Welcome to my e-portfolio! My name is Elizabeth Hurtado, and I am honored to serve as a Children's Librarian at the Springdale Public Library in Arkansas. With a rich background spanning fifteen years in strategic communication, project management, and marketing, I bring a unique blend of skills and experiences to my role in inspiring and educating young learners.
Originally from the Dominican Republic, I have lived in the United States for the past seven years. My journey in library services began around five years ago when I joined the Springdale Public Library, where I have dedicated myself to fostering a love for reading and learning among children in our community.
Throughout my career, I have focused on creating engaging and educational programs tailored to the needs of young learners. My expertise includes child development knowledge, youth literacy, programming skills, fundraising, and successful community partnerships. I am deeply committed to cultivating a nurturing environment where children can thrive and discover the joy of literacy.
My skill set encompasses areas such as child development, arts and crafts, cultural competencies, and effective communication. I am passionate about leveraging these skills to design innovative programs, curate diverse collections, and promote early literacy initiatives.
